1          tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1          clove crushed garlic
1          teaspoon Dijon mustard
1          teaspoon honey
pinch    salt
1/8       teaspoon black pepper, fresh ground

Mix the ingredients with a fork. Traditional French vinaigrette is mixed in the bottom of the salad bowl before adding the lettuce.
